Wednesday playgroup

We met up with our friends Lily, Kim, Karson and Mariann today. Bailey and Shanna were just leaving as J and I got there - bummer! Maybe next time...

The kids played in the 'leaves.'

We tried to get pictures of the three of them...once they start crawling, I guess they're harder to get to sit still, LOL!!

Jeremiah in a bucket:

I just love this picture of Lily - she is adorable and looks so big - like a little girl - in this picture.

5 months old!

Our little pumpkin is 5 months today! To celebrate, I gave him a mohawk - just temporarily.

Then we headed to the mall to meet up w/ friends (I highly recommend checking out the AZ Mills Childrens Place...I bought hoodie sweatshirts for J for $2.99 each. They were originally $16.50 - they have lots of great sales right now, especially on little girls clothes!)

And after a little nap, J played with a wooden spoon and pans.

Oh boy...

Nothing can make mama more freaked out than to come home from grocery shopping to find these pictures on the camera:

Not that he's crying..just that he's standing on the lazy boy by himself!

And my guys in their Cardinals gear:

Jeremiah and Patches - he just loves her. He gives her these HUGE smiles that I don't even get. :-(

Black Friday!

I looooooove shopping on "black Friday." This year was slightly different as I can't just wake up and head out around 7am, or I guess I could, it would just be difficult with J. So...I woke up at 330am, fed him and he went right back to sleep, and headed over to Mervyn's. It was busy, but not too bad. I was SHOCKED at the number of little children there...toddlers, little babies, totally awake. At 4am! Crazy.

Then I headed over to Walmart. Now...that was amazing. People were lined up all the way to Southern Avenue! I just sat in my car and waited til I saw the doors open, then headed into the store. I was lucky enough to get a cart...lots of people didn't get one and ended up dragging 5 shop-vacs around the store. They had big Tvs on sale and people loaded up those big carts, like at Costco, with them and other huge things. It was nuts. Also, I saw lots of babies there. Poor things, they all looked so tired! I don't understand people who have to drag their kids out of bed...why not leave your husband and kids at home and just go with your friends??

After J woke up we went to Old Navy, I wanted some new jeans and they were 'doorbusters' at 50% off.

I took a few pictures:

Me at 330am, don't I look thrilled?

My plan for Mervyns.

The time before I left.

My haul after getting home.

And a pic of me (no nap or makeup!) and the adorable J.

Overall it was a good shopping day. I was done and back home by 7am and spent MUCH less than the supposed "average" American spends on Christmas. (Supposedly $800 - HA!!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

There are so many things to be thankful for this year - God's amazing love and grace given through Jesus, our marriage, our amazing and hilarious son, and loving friends and family. We are so blessed.

We drove down to Tucson to have Thanksgiving with Kristen and Bill and the boys. I tried to take lots of pictures for the family in Wisconsin.

The beautiful table:

A great spread:

Noah was ready for his close up...

Jake, not so much:

Mmmm...Pie!

Bill was first in line for the pie:

Gippy fell asleep so we had some fun with him:

The boys played some softball in the backyard,

And Jake had changed into an...interesting outfit.

Jeremiah was a trooper for the four hours we spent in total travel time. We drove to Casa Grande to pick up Grandma and Grandpa G and then we headed down to Tucson. He barely napped at all...he's getting to the age where he doesn't want to sleep anywhere but in his crib or in the carseat. But he had a great time on his first Thanksgiving!

Sippy cups and whatnot

Jeremiah's doing much better eating, thank God. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. It was a scary time! But, I did get to introduce a sippy cup to him with some pedialyte in it. He is actually really good with it - can't figure out that he has to tip it to get liquid out, but good enough.

Then just a quick comparison picture. In the first he's 2 1/2 weeks old, the second 4 1/2 months. Same onesie and socks.

And on Saturday we went to the Scottsdale Art Walk near the Museum of Contemporary Art. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Best of all, free parking and free entry...and free Starbucks peppermint mochas!! Yummy.

And finally, a little video of J laughing at me fake sneezing. Sorry about the poor lighting, we just wanted to get it on video real quick!

Stubborn boy!

So, I took J to the doctor yesterday. Why? Well, he's been refusing to eat and I saw something that looked like blood in his diaper. Needless to say both mama and papa were a bit freaked out. Turns out it wasn't blood (thank God!) but it was a sign of dehydration - not surprising since Jeremiah, again, was refusing to eat. Now, he's doing alright today, still not eating a lot, but eating and not screaming so much. He's in a good mood for the most part...I've heard that some babies can go on a 'nursing strike' around this age. Hopefully that's all this is. His weight hasn't been affected - he weighs 14lb, 4.5oz. Still in the 25th percentile.

He does, of course, still enjoy his cereal:

And he's figured out how to turn himself in the pack n play so he can see the TV. Sneaky boy!

Pictures

Shawn took some pictures of me and J today...

Shawn thinks Jeremiah's smile looks like mine. What do you think?

Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa G's house to visit with my brother again before he leaves to go back to Wisconsin.

Grandma and Jeremiah:

Look at those big blue eyes and looong eyelashes!
