Thank you, God!!

We are home from the hospital!! Praise God! They didn't find anything wrong with him, so whatever happened on Monday evening seems to be a strange event. Here are some pics from the hospital, waiting for the results of the EEG today.

Jeremiah thanks you for all the prayers! We really needed them!!

Our poor pumpkin!

We have had a scary 24 hours! Yesterday at about 4pm, Jeremiah had what looked like a seizure while in his bouncy. He had been sleeping, and suddenly his whole body was shaking and his eyes were rolled back. It was over quickly, and I grabbed him and he appeared fine - alert, kind of startled that I woke him up, though. The pediatrician wanted us to take him to the ER, so we took him to Phoenix Childrens Hospital. They immediatley saw us and started runnning tests. First, the CAT scan - which Jeremiah hated.
Then, they poked his little wrists to draw blood and put in an IV. This was horrible - he screamed his head off for at least 20 minutes, and then passed out. His heartrate was over 210 when he would really get going - I was so worried about him!

After the IV battle...

So, then they did a lumbar puncture, which was another 20 minutes of screaming. He really hates being held down, I guess. The doctor was really surprised at how much he fought. They admitted him, and we were taken to a room. He's in a cage:

So far, all tests are ok. We are having an EEG done this afternoon. They were also very concerned with his lingering jaundice (but aren't so much anymore) and also ran an EKG and had a chest x-ray due to a heart murmur they heard. So far, all is well. Mom and Dad are doing okay, tired, slightly stressed, but okay.

PS: It's freezing in here!!

2 months old!

No pics (will add later) but I wanted to post song lyrics of a song that I heard on the radio the other day. Of course, it makes me sob like a big baby...what is it about having a child that makes me do that? It played while Shawn and I (and J) were in the car and he's like: "Are you crying?" Sometimes I can't help myself!

Plumb – In My Arms
From the album – Blink

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do
Is hold you tight
Knowing…

Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe
In my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash around
But you will be safe
In my arms

Storybooks
Are full of fairytales
Of Kings and Queens
And the bluest skies
But my heart is torn
Just in knowing
You'll someday see
The truth from lies
When the…

Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe
In my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash around
But you will be safe
In my arms

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Cause I will always
Always love you

It's a really pretty song, too, at least I think so. But again, I'm an emotional kind of person and things might sound different to me right now!

Welcome to the gun show, ladies! These are what we call the 'fists of fury!' And...just a cute picture. I can't believe how cute he is!!

And look what we have - a little video of him!

Jeremiah's big night!

Okay, I don't have any pics to prove this, but last night Jeremiah slept in his crib for the first time! It was not planned, Shawn gets him ready for bed in his crib, and apparently he was pretty out, so Shawn just left him in there. I, of course, wanted to cry but eventually fell asleep. (After being able to talk in a voice above a whisper with Shawn AND read some of the Bible - oh the things you miss when a baby is sleeping in your room!!)

Get this...J slept from 930pm-4am! He woke up to eat, and I put him back down (half asleep) at about 410am...he kind of made some noise but fell asleep around 430am. I went in to get him at 645am and this is the face that greeted me:
(picture is not from actual event)

A happy baby! He wasn't crying or upset, just ready to get up and eat!

Both Shawn and I didn't sleep that great, we were kind of up all night 'monitoring' the monitor. We'll see how it goes tonight!!

Jeremiah has a girlfriend!!!

J and I visited our friends, Lily, Kim and Cory today! Lily and J got to know each other a little bit...are they holding hands?!?!

He couldn't stop checking her out..and I think he was trying to talk to her, but all he kept saying was: "cooooooooo." Smooth move, J.

And Kim took a really great pic of the little monster right here...

Now that's just wrong...

Today is the first day Jeremiah has worn pants! I know, not a big deal, but I'm slowly getting more comfortable dressing him, so it's a big deal to me. He looks so cute!

Here are me and J - I look horrible, but I think it's cute because he's looking at me!

And here he is just being a cutie, fast asleep!

Thank you for your prayers in regards to his acid reflux - the meds seem to be helping him...he's not crying nearly as much during the day...he still eats all the time, but that should slow down as the medicine takes effect.

My poor baby!

Life at the Roland household has been tough the last four days. I'd give you a peek into it, but I can't get the video uploaded for some reason. Trust me, it's sad and makes me want to cry when I watch it.

My boy screams..screaming like that I'm sure is normal SOMETIMES for a baby....but not ALL the time. My little monkey has cried like that a lot the last four days. He's been fussy while eating, crying while eating, had the hicuups a lot, burping (then crying) a lot...so we went to the doctor. Jeremiah has acid reflux and has to be on Zantac. We just started it last night, and the crying was lessened today, but it's still quite a bit. He was great while we were at the mall for about an hour and forty five minutes, but once we were home...it all started over again. We have to give it two weeks to work. Hopefully it does soon!

Random pictures..

Jeremiah is getting so big - I'm starting to put him in clothes, not just onesies...here is his 'stud' look with the open collar...

And here he is in his bumbo chair! He holds his head up really well, now he just needs to work on sitting up!

When he's in a good mood, he acts so silly when I brush my hair across his face...he'll smile and open his mouth, it's so cute!

And a picture with Grandma G...

Reminder to self: turn off the flash, mommy!
He's 6 weeks old today! We 'weighed' him using the very accurate method of Shawn weighing himself with and without the baby, and he weighs about 11 pounds. At least on our scale!

Full House!

This weekend we have some visitors! First, my dad came in Friday morning to see his first grandchild.
My dad (Dave) AKA "Dza Dza" (Pronounced "Ja-Ja" - Polish for Grandpa) and Jeremiah

I made dinner for us (spaghetti) and was putting leftovers away...Shawn was walking around with J. and I hear Shawn say: "Jeremiah, don't be so messy when you're eating noodles!" I turn around and see my baby:

Then, on Friday evening, Shawn's Dad (Dan) and his wife Karen got to town!

They made us dinner on Saturday night - here are the guys grilling!

Here is Shawn and Jeremiah by the tree we planted for Nicholas, the baby we lost in February of 2006. I thought it was sweet.

And this is just a cute picture of the baby boy...

5 weeks old!

He is getting so big!!

He likes hanging out here, just moving his arms and legs - learning how to use those muscles!!

Tired mommy and baby...
